Telmont and Cinema for Change

"Cinema for Change" is a film festival dedicated to showcasing films that address important social, environmental and humanitarian issues. The festival was founded in 2010 by the non-profit organization Connect4Climate and has been held annually ever since. The festival aims to raise awareness of important global issues. Its goal is also to inspire people to take action to create positive change in their communities. Telmont and Cinema for Change started cooperation for the 12th festival edition in 2023.

Program of the Cinema for Change

Each year, the festival features a diverse range of films from around the world, including documentaries, feature films, and shorts. The films selected for the festival are chosen for their ability to stimulate discussion and create meaningful dialogue about important issues. Some of the topics covered in past festivals include climate change, social justice, gender equality, and human rights.

In addition to film screenings, the festival also includes panel discussions and workshops. Those events are led by experts and activists in the fields of social and environmental justice. These discussions and workshops provide opportunities for attendees to engage with important issues in a deeper and more meaningful way.

Cinema as a platform for positive change

Overall, "Cinema for Change" is an important platform for promoting positive change through film and dialogue. By bringing together filmmakers, activists, and audiences, the festival is able to create a space for discussion and further action around important global issues.

Through films, the international festival Cinema for Change aims to raise awareness of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations. Ever since the film "8", which led to its creation in 2010, the Festival has worked passionately to bring attention to its motto: see and act.

A relevant partnership with Telmont

Telmont delightedly accepted the role of the official partner for the 12th edition. This edition took place in Paris, from April 11 to 16 2023, at the Grand Rex cinema. As it does every year, the Festival awarded the Grand Prize and the Special Jury Prize to two feature films. The festival awardedd also three prizes to three short films. There was as well a honorary prize to a film personality, recognizing their ongoing commitment to sustainable development.

During the festival, there were evening screenings and panel discussions. Telmont was especially present for the screening of the film "Mission Régéneration", directed by Joshua Tickell and Rebecca Harrell Tickell. After the screening, Bertrand Lhôpital, Cellar Master and Head of Viticulture at Champagne Telmont, expressed his views on the changes that winegrowing practices need to undergo, including the transition to organic viticulture. After that passionate debate, they answered questions from the audience about the film, their point of view and action to help preserve our Earth.

Our shared committments

Ludovic du Plessis, CEO of Champagne Telmont: "This festival is highly relevant for us. At Telmont, we believe that it is important to take action, to step up efforts to preserve our planet. Our champagne is part of an ambitious project: "In the Name of Mother Nature". We want to produce our best champagne, with the utmost respect for Mother Nature, without being afraid of breaking any codes. We owe Nature so much. Telmont commends the organizers of Cinema for Change for their initiatives to protect our environment!”

Marc Obéron – Founder of the Cinema for Change festival: “The films and panel discussions that we have chosen are guided by core human and societal values. We base our selection on how the film can have an emotional impact and get people to think and want to take action. Working with Telmont was very inspiring, we share the same concerns and desires. Humans are creative by nature and we must take advantage of this capacity to innovate in order to further protect our environment. It is our responsibility for future generations.”

Telmont and Cinema for Change hopes for further cooperation during future festivals.
